I want a phone that has top-notch reception. I DON'T want a flip-fone,
camera, mp3 player, or any of that crap. I simply want a PHONE that is
the best-receiving phone in the Sprint line.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

The Motorola Razr is also quite good. Too bad the Katana doesn't have Power
Vision.

I think the OP is saying that all that's needed is a really
good handset for voice calling - one that grabs and holds a signal,
and nothing more.
If Vision/Web access isn't important, the best is still a
Sanyo. I have a 4920 to sell, and that would fit the bill. I don't
know if you can still get them directly from Sprint. I imagine there
are quite a few on Ebay.

We're also hooked on Sanyos here for their great receivers. The
sensitivity is impressive. We have one SCP-200 and two SCP-3100's on the
plan. The "200" is the most basic one. All work great.
I had an LG PM-325 a couple of years ago. The receiver was never very
sensitive, and it got worse after one year.
By "receiver" I mean radio receiver for signal acquisition. Sometimes I
think receiver can refer to the unit in general.
Hope this helps.

David,
You hit the nail on the head!
Yes, I had read about the Sanyo's, and the Katana in particular.
Currently have an SCP 3100 that isn't very impressive as far as a
communications transceiver. I'll check out the 4920.
Just curious: how old is your 4920? What comes with it? How much?
Many thanks.

It was my wife's and she barely used it. I bought it right
after they first came out, I think January '05. More importantly I
have the life-timer figure somewhere and the mileage is practically
nil. I have no accessories, just a second battery that's almost brand
new (long story). It's in perfect condition, and I'm flexy. I was
hanging on to it as a fallback if I lost or destroyed my 8300.
Please feel free to mail me directly.
