    Apparently so.

I just called and called my account with Sprint based on the number
portability fee issue, and was let out without paying the early
    termination fee.

You must have really wanted out to use the $0.63 monthly fee (or $1.10 as
you might have thought it actually was) as the reason to do so. Last week I
would have jumped ship in a heartbeat, but now that my temper has cooled, I
don't see a decent alternative in Minnesota, so I must stay for now
Besides ... I like my phone number ... so do my customers and business
contacts (and a few Anoka county public service recipients as well .. there
    number is 422 not 442 ... duh!).

You might have to fight for it. Also, keep in mind that the Advantage
Agreement only lets you out if it's been less than 30 says since the
billing date of the first invoice with the charge and if you haven't
    paid it yet.

Where have you been? It was obvious that WLNP was used to get out of the
    plan.

    tom,

you're absolutely correct. $0.63 is not a showstopper. i did want out
for other reasons including sprint's lack of support for bluetooth
phones and on-going issues with my vision account.

I've been on top of this since day one. I chimed in because I got the
feeling that the original poster stumbled onto this considering he
didn't give much info on a new thread. I wanted to clarify the
    situation.

I cancelled yesterday 8/14. No questions asked I will not be charged a
    termination fee.

I am a happy verizon wireless customer

I am hopeful all these folks that have been promised no Termination Fee
in fact won't be charged one.

Re: SprintPCS will let you out of contract ! ?

I am not being smart with this question, and I have both Sprint and
Verizon services--but what was the gain in the termination--If you are
going to have cell service, and in reality with the various plans both
companies have the service is very similar, but I believe that Verizon
is at least somewhat higher in most plans--you will have to have a
contract with verizon or sprint, both will eventually charge for this
number port thing--you were at least partially thru the sprint contract,
now yup have a brand new verizon contract, which will very difficult to
cancel, and you probably had to buy another phone of some type--all over
    63 per month.

The reason I ask, is that I am tempted to call about the extra charges
too, and probably will--but my goal would be to get more minutes or some
other good upgrade without extra charge --this would make me an even
    happier sprint customer
--but I guess if I had just one cell service, it would be veriizon--but
this is due to the fringe area I live in--Just wanted to get your and
other folks views on what the end goal is ..thanks
