I had my share of problems with Sprint PCS, but, after 50 hours (4
hours to return the Sanyo 8100s this morning) I am left with my last
$39.50 bill to pay Sprint. It took some complaining, but finally,
    they have made me whole.

I won't keep bashng Sprint PCS here or anywhere else as long as my
last phone bill is the $39.50 balance they tell me it is and the
activation fees and $150 fee are waived.

Had I lived in Addison or Plano when I purchased Sprint PCS, I
probably would have had an entirely different experience, and would
still be a customer. But alas, as much as I like to complain, it is
time for me to move on.

    Good luck!

    Justin

Also, I keep trying to respond to other people's posts and they end up
starting a new thread. I must be doing something wrong - anyways...

I get my news Reader set to highlight any posts from you in verizon.
I see folks over there grumbkling about Verizon being strict with their
    $175 early termination fee.

Phillipe, just out of curiousity, where do you see people grumbling
about Verizon? I would like to check it out!

Also, I'm sure that although they may be "strict" about their
cancellation fees, there are always loopholes, and I'm told that their
(Verizon's) employees have "empowerment" to make decisions to waive the
fee if they feel it is warranted. With no fear of discipline.

Thats an understatement (about the loopholes).

I used to know people who worked in Verizon retail stores. This is
actualy worse than being stuck with the ETF. A customer comes in, raise
a commotion, once they breathe the word cancel, they're shut off with
    the ETF waived.

    Why?

Most people who cause a commotion like that really don't want to cancel,
they're just throwing out threats, but guess what, you said it, you lost
everything, and will have to re-sign up from scratch, new number
included. They didn't deal with the BS like what we do in the Sprint
    stores because of that.

As I posted yesterday, I went and signed up at Verizon. Well, the
phones are already headed back to Verizon because I got home and they
couldn't make calls either. I took the phones back, and of course,
they tried to get me to wait a week, but they eventually took the
phones back with very little trouble. The only problem is, my bank
account is now waiting on the $282 refund from Sprint and now a $350
refund from Verizon for the cost of the phones. I got the ATT plan
today with the motorola V60 and it appears to be working fine here IN
    the house. We'll see.

    Hi Justin,

It sounds like you have had a very difficult time getting signal inside
your house. I joined this particular thread kind of late, so I
apologize if these questions are redundant... but have you ever
previously had success with any provider when it comes to signal
strength inside your house? Does the signal strength get considerably
better when you step outside your house, or is it your entire
    neighborhood?

<<I got the ATT plan today with the motorola V60 and it appears to be

Yeah, good luck. Traditionally, Verizon is seen as one of the stronger
(on average) providers. So if you had no luck with VZW, hopefully AT&T
will work out. Does T-Mobile or Cingular offer coverage where you live?

I would maybe try -- going into the store of the provider you are going
to try and really explain to them your situation, including the
providers you have already tried and where you live... maybe you would
luckily come across a rep who knows that particular provider's weak
    areas in the city.

    Good luck, Justin

    Eric

You live in a cellular black hole. ;-)

Hopefully you'll be able to find someone with good coverage there.

    Good luck!

Your first mistake was signing up with Sprint and LG phones.
Your second mistake was signing up with Verizon and LG phones. At least VZW
has a good reputation, but that seems to be changing for the worse
especially in Customer Service and coverage.
LG phones are junk and are sure to be replaced with a new improved model
    every three months.
Old Junk LG model + new junk LG model = new improved LG Junk, with the same
    old problems.
Good thing for you ATTWS doesn't have LG phones.

Hm. Funny. That first part of the first sentence... that's why I find
all the Retention threads in _this_ newsgroup so amusing. But I've said
that before. I won't go down that road again...
