    Hi,

Can anybody tell me if there are any CONS to porting telephone numbers?
I thought I had read somewhere a while back but a search on Google shows
nothing of the sort such as problems with call fwd or sms...

Also, can anybody tell me if i live in York, PA and have a 717 area code
wireless #, can I port that # over while still living in York, PA 717 to a
Boost 703 area code phone? Thanks...

    I don't think there are.

No, it's Wireless LOCAL number portability.

Maybe, but not if that number is already in use in the new area code.

Other than administrative issues from telcos, I haven't heard of any.

I'm not sure what you mean. If you mean an old Boost mobile that had
(past tense) a 703 area code, then yes, you should be able to port over
to the Boost mobile thus making the Boost a 717 area code. However,
Boost must offer service in that part of the 717 area. If the Boost has
signal, you could probably take your 717 phone number to the phone.
