    hi,
I don't use cell phone too much, so I am thinking about pre-pay phone
    carrie net10.
I am thinking about these two models, Nokia 2600, and Motorola C139.
But I don't know which one is a better choice. They have basically same
price. What I need is just a basic phone, can make/receive calls, send
message, and easy to use, stable software. I don't care about the MMS,
    GPRS things.
I also heard some reviews says sometimes, it may reset itself, and lost
everything including airtime, don't know if anyone has this type of
    experience.
    Any suggestion is appreciated.
    Thanks.

    JoshIII responds:
Net10 and TracFone are divisions of American Movil
    a South American company.

    Net10 will cost a minimum of $30 a month
and you will have to use 300 minutes a month,
else your minutes will build up. Then your phone
will have lots of valuable minutes on it, which
isn't advisable. If the phone is lost, so are
    your minutes.

Net10 and TracFone are only for domestic US
    use.

If you plan to use a cellphone less than 60 minutes
a month, I would suggest getting a TracFone or
    PagePlusCellular.

You can purchase an "Inpulse" brand phone from
Walmart, that can be activated with Page Plus Cellular.
    PagePlusCellular uses the Verizon network.

Page Plus Cellular will allow you to have a good
    coverage cellphone for $3.33/month (minimum),
while TracFone will allow you to keep theirs
    for $8.00/month (minimum).

    Hope this helps!

Thanks, Joshill, it really helps a lot.
And int Trackfone website, it says "one single rate"? what does this
    exactly mean?
Net10 is one single rate .10 for any call. What is the rate difference
on local, long distance, or roaming on tracfone's one single rate?
And also, on tracfone, its "Unit" basically means minute, right? Except
some different rate, like two units pre minute.
    Thanks.

    JoshIII responds:
All GSM TracFones are on a single-rate plan.

The TracFone single-rate plan and the Net10
single-rate plan isn't the same thing.

    Net10 single-rate means all calls .10/minute.
    The smallest denomination airtime card
you can get with Net10 is $30 for 300 minutes.
You have to add a $30 card per month with Net10..

TracFone single-rate means the roaming rate
and local rate are the same, but the cost/minute
depends on the airtime card you buy. If you add a
60 minute card for $20 every 60 days, the
cost per minute is 33 cents/minute. If you add a
400 minutes airtime card for $80 every 60 days,
the cost per minute is 20 cents/minute.

    > And also, on tracfone, its "Unit" basically means
    > minute, right? Except some different rate, like two
    > units per minute.

CDMA TracFones (if they can be found anymore)
have a roaming charge that is 2 units for every
minute of talk time used. CDMA TracFones
    include the 5180i, c343, 2126, v120, 2285, and
    v60i(cdma version)

GSM TracFones, the number of units shown on the
display equates to the number of minutes talk time
    you have remaining.

    Hope this helps!

    JoshIII adds:
Net10 has an interesting new addition to their
    airtime card line up.

A year of service with 1500 minutes for $150.00.

That averages out to $12.50/month for
    125 minutes a month.

Not a bad plan for a power user that still
    wants a prepaid plan
