iPhone plan?????

I'm thinking about getting a used 4GB iPhone or 8GB and I was told that if I get an iPhone (unlocked or not) that I HAVE to pay for an iPhone plan.

Is that true?? Seems a little crazy to me

I won't be needing EDGE or anything because most places I go already have free WiFi set up and stuff like "Visual Voicemail" aren't really that big of a deal to me if I don't have them.

So would I really have to pay all of that money for a plan that I would not really need? I'm already on an AT&T plan so I don't need any extra $$$ to be added on

The iPhone plan is actually really expensive, hence why people rarely have it.

Data plans go for $40 a month. That's only for internet. The phone plan cost about $30. Thats $70 a month, which is a whole lot for a cellphone. You might want to reconsider.

No you would not need that if you get a first gen iphone just keep whatever plan you have and pop in ur att sim connect to itunes and bingo activated

so this would not work for a 3g?

where do you install a sim on these phones anyhow...its seems that theyare a sealed case all the way around

try to find a 1st gen iphone for the 20 dollar data plan

thats the whole point of the new iphone3g. it sucks that its for only at&t as i wanted to get it for tmobile. apple is certainly getting greedy since you more or less have to buy a data plan. ;/ thats a bundle of money.

no way....if you get an iphone...get the 3g unlocked from france (like i did)...but you gotta know who to talk to...like the guys at the jewelry kiosks in malls..lol...they'll get you a good deal on an unlocked 3g!!

or you could buy an iphone, and unlock it yourself!!...it's pretty easy..
alltogether, with t-mobile, I pay about $39 a month for unlimited minutes/text/and internet!!!...Ya gotta know how to hack!!
