Someone finally found out a way to copy and paste text from Safari to Mail, and between web pages. It's legal and believe it or not, it doesn't require any software.
It was determined that it works with the two most important apps, Mail and Safari, and gets around without using Apple's App Store through a wise combination of javascript bookmarks and web services.
Using two bookmarks, one prepares it and loads the page that you are viewing, selecting text at the touch of a finger. Next, you can copy the text you want and create a new mail message with the text in it. Also, you will be able to copy and paste in the text field of a different web page.

Re: iPhone Copy and Paste
But isn't this extra work silly? Does anyone know what is in the SDK that prevents true copy and paste functionality? I cannot understand what the issue is - and this is a truly needed function. Work arounds are greet for the non-tech-challenged amongst us, but this is a consumer device and thus requires a much more elegant solution. Can anyone shed some light here?
