Re: iPhone 4?
I have it, upgraded from a 3G... I'd say if you have a 3Gs, its probably not worth the money unless you just want to upgrade and get something new. IOS 4 completely killed my 3G though and I couldn't live with a phone that slow.
As far as signal issues, I bought a little $20 rubber cover and haven't had the first problem. I am left handed too. I'd say its similar if not slightly better than my 3G with signal quality. Its MUCH faster, and has all the features of the IOS 4 so I'm happy.

Re: iPhone 4?
So far, I love this phone. The only problems I have with this is phone is the antenna issue and the battery life. I bought the bumper for it so the antenna issue is over I guess. Luckily I also found this Solio solar battery charger at greenhome.com that has worked really well so far. There is the cheapest I can find it =D

Re: iPhone 4?
iPhone had a free case program for about a year to fix the left handed holding/antenna issue, which again isn't an issue if you're not left handed. Buy a case for the iPhone 4 and it antenna issue is resolved, not to mention a case is just a good idea anyway. iPhone 4 is great, problems are few and all minor. If you like Apple products you'll love it.

Re: iPhone 4?
I think the ones with issues were the first few batches released but the next ones that followed show no similar issues. I bought a factory unlocked iPhone 4 from timtechs and have never experienced what they call "death grip" nor any other issues so far.
