Hi there!
I just want to ask what do you think is the earliest age for a child to be using an iPhone or iPad?
Is iPad used as an aid for school research way better than a desktop? Or nothing beats the desktop one for academic purposes?

The GALAXY Note was created to reflect such desires. The Galaxy Note is a primary device that will minimize the need to switch to other devices while on the go and open up the potential of your mobile experience. It is basically a 5 inch Android tablet phone.

I don't think there is a minimum age, as long as there is supervision.
I think a desktop or laptop would be best since it has a physical keyboard and is compatible with most websites. You don't want to rely on an iPhone or iPad, and then find out an educational website you need isn't compatible.

Most iPad for kids are used to play games or watch videos. Also, checking Facebook and chating online is welcome with iPad. So a supervision is necessary. If it is a jailbroken one, you can use iKeyMonitor to supervise your kids' iPad usage. Search "iKeyMonitor iPhone/iPad Keylogger", and you can download and start free trial.

I would think that there is a minimum age. Maybe 6 or 5. Just about the age when they know enough not to suddenly throw the iPad at something.

Thanks for the response guys! I do realize that it is inconvenient for a child to be using an iPad for schoolwork and even games. A desktop is quite ideal too as the screen size is visual friendly and the set up is posture friendlier, haha! Though it may be great if the child knows how to use the iPad.

Re: Minimum age for iPhone/iPad?
Someone told me a while back that kids these days are born wired. like they have internal programming so they understand tech better than we did back when we were kids. lol. from the things i see in malls, I believe that to be true now.

Re: Minimum age for iPhone/iPad?
It's weird to see some kids with expensive electronics. I'd worry they'd lose them or break them somehow. That's why I still think it's best for children to be supervised when using expensive electronics. If they want their own phone they can have a basic flip phone. They don't need a $200+ smartphone to bring to school.

Re: Minimum age for iPhone/iPad?
It depends on the kid, but I agree that most kids are generally forgetful. Taking my sister for example who lost a Timex and a blackberry.
Rather than a flip phone though, Samsung has a Galaxy young. It is roughly around $170 cash (unlocked). I can afford that and tell her its really expensive, then warn her she's not getting another when she loses it. constant reminders and some trust can help build responsibility in a child. ^_^
