News: AT&T announces iPhone 3GS on sale for $49

Starting today, The AT&T iPhone 3GS will go on sale for $49 on a 2year contract. Eligibility applies to those who are new customers as well as existing customers that are eligible for an upgrade.

AT&T did not mention the iPhone 4 in this sale, but considering that the iPhone 3GS was $50 more, this is still a great deal. AT&T could, in fact, still reduce the price of the iPhone 4 when Verizon starts to launch the iPhone.

Rumors have it that Verizon and AT&T will soon launch a CDMA iPhone this quarter which means, AT&T doesn't have long to bring in new 2 year contract agreements for new customers.
