    Did anyone answer this!

    New to this forum, so if this has been answered, sorry!!

    So has this question been answered? I refuse to pay the evil us cellular ppl for the ringtones they have selected. I've been trying different ways and could use all the help I can get... while I still have some hair

    Does anyone have a problem viewing the file system of their 8900 with brewsky?
    everything else works but the filesystem tab, it doesn't display anything.

    Brewsky and Alltel

    Okay, I would like to get Brewsky to work with both my fiance's Audiovox 8910 and my Kyocera Slider on the Alltel network. I've discovered they're both Kyocera phones with similar software and exactly the same data cable. I also noticed that your software has a data.ini file which functions as the "setup" for each carrier. What I need to be able to do is modify that "script" so that it is functional for each phone (neh?). So I've got this much down...

    [Alltel]
    ring=user/sound/ringer
    photo=brew/shared/jpeg

    Unfortunatly I've never downloaded a wallpaper (but for the moment) I'm assuming that the file directory will be...
    wallpaper=brew/shared/images

    So my question is how do I get the following information?
    tone=00000000000000000000000000000000000A000300000000000000892B100000000000212C100063680B0305000000FFFF0000
    start=94
    and what does it mean?

    mp3 ringers, encoding, and lag

    While I'm sure that it helps in the area of quality, I'm wondering if your getting the same problem I am with the mp3 ringers taking forever to start. The sound doesn't start till about the third ring on the other side of the phone. I've heard different reasoning and would like to save myself some time versus experimenting. I've heard remove the id3 header tags... use a smaller bitrate... small frequency? Has anybody had any luck?

    Thnx

    I found the solutions to most ppls problems with connecting to the CDM8900....This worked perfectly for me, befioe I opened the port it WOULD NOT CONNECT!
    Bitpim does not support this phone anymore and will not even answer emails, but I used to use the old Bitpim and I had to do the following steps:

    Power your phone on, leave it unconnected from the cable, and type ##7678 and then the END key. You will get a list of USB options. Choose USB DIAG and hit Okay. Make sure you CLOSE the flip before before plugging the phone in. If you turn off your phone you WILL have to repeat this step. You can now plug in the phone.

    Now find what com port your phone is using, by looking in your hardware manager. click connect, refresh and then your all set... hopefully!!!

    Do not forget, every time you reboot your phone it will change the USB DIAG bact to UART MAIN....

    Good luck!

    Did you look in Media Gallery/ Tones? That is where mine go.

    And to use them as a ringer, go to Settings/Sounds/Ringer Type/Ringer... Then you can navigate left or right to see what the phone offers. The uploaded ringtones are in the "downloads" section.
