How did you get the ring tones to work, I can see them in the media gallery, but there is no sound? and the the icon looks like an envelope with a red x on it . . . ???

I'm using .mp3 renamed to .mid . . . These are ringtones I am making myself using the following process that someone else suggested . . .
"Just take the mp3 and use dbpower amp, to convert it to a wave. Then open it with windows sound recorder and take any 20 seconds out of that song that you want to use for your ring tone. Now that you have it use dbpower amp again to convert it back to mp3. Now just change the mp3 to a midi"
Then I load the midi to the phone using Brewsky.
Someone else said . . .
"the 8900 can play mp3 files that are less than 20 seconds with no greater than 90kbs bitrate and 22hz. You have to format the mp3 clips. The mp3 file MUST be sampled under 96 kbps. Once you did all that, rename the file's extension to .MIDI"
Now I don't know much about mp3 formats so the part about "90kbs bitrate and 22hz" and "sampled under 96 kbps" doesn't mean much to me which may be the problem
If someone can give me (or tell me where I can find) a quick tutorial on mp3 formats or dbpower amp. . . I learn quickly
Thanks!

CHANGE SETTINGS
GUY,
CHANGE THE SETTINGS TO READ THE SAME AS THE ATTACHED FILE YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CHANGE THE FILE TO A MIDI IT WILL WORK WITH AN MP3 IF THE HZ'S ARE LOW.THE CHANEL HAS TO BE MONO AND ONLY 20 SECONDS LONG
GOOD LUCK

Don't know what I was doing wrong, maybe changing the filename, or the frequency, I was using 8000.
Works great though!
Thanks a bunch!!!
