Try "other CDMA phone" in BitPim, or just get QPST.

See what COM port your phone is using in device manager, and make sure the apps use the same. Plus you may be having a cable problem.

Do you have a straight or converter (box) cable?

Hmm, supposedly that should be the best one for Bitpim.

Try getting QPST, or try Curitel's PCSync

Make sure that the "box" in the middle is not a charging function.. Charging cables can seriously mess up an Audiovox phone as the charging cables were not designed for Audiovox phones even though they are "compatible". Don't use them.

You should be able to use the Curitel 4.18 drivers for your Audiovox 8910 which you can download here

You can easily download photos by following this tutorial

The problem is that many people say straight cables won't work with Bitpim.

Unless the auction states the cable can charge as well, you should have no problem buying a converter cable off eBay. ($8-$10)

    the right cable?

Some people say straight cables dont work, some people say converted cables dont work. Generally its simply user error or somebody forgetting to change their data settings on their phone.

I am not saying that you are wrong. Just from my experience with testing and analyzing multiple types of cables this is the conclusion that I have come to. We have sold over a thousand cables and I need to ensure our customers have a working product as we have a 100% money back guarantee.

I'm not doubting the quality of your cables. I'm sure you get the same types as some of the eBay sellers do.

Incidentally, what is the photo meant to illustrate?

Data Settings to use USB cable

Someone in this thread mentioned that he concluded that most problems were because of "data settings were not correct". I cannot get my VM8910 to communicate with Bitpim or any other application that I have tried. I have found the code to change the baud rate for data communication (I have tried both options), but I did not find anything that indicated that data communications was enabled/disabled.
    I'm using a cable marked "CUC-20 016237 A".
When I use Bitpim and select the Filesystem tab, and clicking on the +, all I see is "Retrieving ...".

Has anyone else had similar problems that they were able to resolve?

    Usb Diag

As stated in the Audiovox 8910 tutorials here ensure that you press ##7678 then press the END key. Select USB DIAG and the CLOSE THE FLIP. Then connect to BitPim.
You will have to do this every time the phone is power cycled.
