vox 8610 battery runs dry then phone won't work (2nd time)

Ok this phone has killed the 2nd battery now and I'm pretty sick of this. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

What happens is the after first time I run the battery completely dry the phone stops working. I charge it up, it says the charging is complete, but the second I pull the plug out of the phone the phone goes dead. No power, no screen no nothing.

I plug it back in and within a minute it says its fully charged, pull the plug out and it goes dead.

What the heck? How can they expect you to not let your phone battery run completely dry? It's going to happen sometimes. Am I the only having this problem?
