What's with Optus and MMS messages?

Previously with Telstra, and MMS came to my phone (Palm Treo 650).

Changed to Optus, and they send me a text message to go to
    www.optus.com.au/viewmms to see the message.

Doesn't Optus have the technology to handle MMS?

    Re: Optus & MMS

Sending and receiving a MMS is not the same as sending an SMS

Your phone/device has to be configured for the network you are using
    the the MMS service with.

If your phone was set up for Telstra initially, then you will have to
call customer service to have the Optus settings sent to your phone via
    sms.

You then have to send a MMS before you can receive one. Just send a
picture or text MMS back to you own number and then you are activated.

Optus have a very good tech support dept that will helpif you continue
    to have problems

Call customer service and if they can't get you activated, they will
    pass you onto tech support.
