I am looking for a louder headset without spending a fortune. Any recommendations?
As reference, I bought a Jabra BT135 (real inexpensive) just to see if I liked the concept and how it worked. The device works fine but I have difficulty hearing it, even when turned all the way up, if there is any background noise (like, say, riding in a car). It is fine in a quiet house, but not loud enough for car use. The only other headset that I have had a chance to try is the Cardo Scala 600. This one may be marginally louder, but not much. I am looking for a few choices to be on the lookout for that will be noticeably louder.
Suggestions?

Re: Loud(er) Headset
I have a Motorola HS850 and ditto all your problems. Even with its volume all the way up it is much softer than the Motorola E815 handset I use it with, barely audible in a private office, and totally useless in a moving car (which is why I got it in the first place). For this reason alone it's a worthless piece of junk, way inferior to the quality I would expect from a giant like Motorola.

Re: Loud(er) Headset
A few weeks after I posted the above, I bought a Plantronics Voyager 510 (PLT-510, Fry's SKU 4446716) for $59.99+tax. It comes with a selection of earbuds, one of which fits perfectly into my ear and so effectively gives much louder listening than the others which only come near the ear.
In my first draft of this post, I included a link to the page on the Plantronics web site with details about this wonderful product, but the server refused my post with the following message:

I have a Cardo Systems S-800. It's fairly inexpensive, but it's good & loud. When using it, I usually turn the volume down using the little rocker switch on the side. You can check it out at Amazon:

Re: Loud(er) Headset
I have the Motorola H680 Bluetooth headset. Very small and light weight. Very good sound quality, on/off button and volume controls. Comes with a charging case that you can also store it in. It lasted 19 days on the 1st charge. I use it on the drive to work, hour lunch, many times when I am out during the day, on the way home and on weekends. Motorola wanted $80.00 and I ended up buying it on Amazon for $29.00.
