My web hosting company happens to use SmarterMail, which seems to be based on Java, but I am not sure. It allows access to your email from any web browser. Here is a link to SmarterMail, which includes some screenshots:

My question is, did anyone of you happens to use it? And if so, what phone are you using? If not, can your phone handle similar webmail sites, like Yahoo? I am not talking here about using an email client or app, but accessing the email through a browser.

I am currently using LG Rumor Touch on Virgin Mobile, and it doesn't do it. It's stuck on "Loading" forever. I am using the default browser, which is NetFront.

Re: Which Boost phone could handle SmarterMail based WebMail sites?

I am Jeff Hardy from SmarterTools--the makers of SmarterMail.

SmarterMail has multiple syncing methods for modile devices--not just phones, but tablets as well. It supports IMAP connections, POP (of course), and even has fully licesed Active Sync (EAS) which is realy powerful. This means that SmarterMail can interface with almost every native email client on all major phones.

We also provide and support full webmail--as you have seen. Webmail can be problematic on small screen phones. But we have done a lot of optimization to make it easier on small devices and are doing a lot more now for the SmarterMail 8.x version due out later this year. It looks stellar on tablets and is fairly usable on larger-screened phones.

    Thanks for using SmarterMail.
