The enV from LG has everything: EV-DO high-speed technology, V CAST, VZNavigator, Wireless Sync, a QWERTY keyboard, a large internal screen, dual stereo speakers, and an external memory port. It has a 2.0 megapixel camera & camcorder with autofocus and lens cover, and Bluetooth® stereo support for listening to music and it is packed into a slimmer and lighter weight design.
I have had a chance to play with this phone. I can tell you, now that I have had my hands on it and put it through it's paces....I won't be getting one.
PRO'S:
2 meg camera
Moved the CLR button on the front to a more accessable area
Slimmer
seperated the CLR and Speak button on the inside
added an email button on the inside
added another space bar on the left side in the inside
The two soft buttons are now easier to get to
CONS:
To make the phone thinner, they placed the hinge in the phone itself. Now when you open it up, the phone won't stay flat as the top part now sticks down to far so the phone flops to one side. This is also due to the fact that the camera now sticks out of the back. Very, very stupid design!!!
The inside button's don't stick out like the 9800 does, making it a bit weird and hard to text. Maybe over time, you would get used to it.
The Function key is now gone. I don't know if you now have to double tap the new email key or not.
If you own a 9800, you cannot use any of the items that you have bought for it.
Music Essential Kit won't work
Any Car Charger's or Home Charger's you bought won't work
They switched the SD Card. You will now have to buy a Micro SD Card instead of a Mini SD Card
The keys on the front are to close together, I ended up dialing a wrong number 7 out of 10 times. There is no way to feel what your dialing.
Both the dealer and myself agreed the phone was put together way to sloppy or just thrown together in a hurry. The way the front is hinged was the biggest complaint that both him and I had. We also let a few customers look it over and a 9800. Every one of them said they would take the 9800 over the 9900 if they had to chose. Biggest complaint being the hing and the camera and the way it rocked/wobbled all over when opened to the first position.
Man...what a disappointment!!!
Here are the spec's on the phone for those interested.

Re: LG VX9900 - The enV Review
We get a ton of orders on this phone. I think it is the commercial that they run with the deadly sins. They could of added pride whenever the hot girl walks out with her new phone.

Re: LG VX9900 - The enV Review
Well....my 9800 finally took a dump on me.....bummer. I went in to get a new phone, and they didn't have any 9800 left in stock. I was offered the 9900 as a replacement (insurance covered). I figured why not...this would give me a couple days to really play with the phone.
Well, I still don't like the design!!!
The battery keeps falling out of the phone when I use any holder other than the plastic clip one that Verizon offers. Fixed that by using some scotch tape to hold it in.
They took away the function key and replaced it with a email key. This is a big disappointment. I really liked the fact that I could assign one number key to perform a function that would normally take 4+ key strokes to do. I don't know of one person that would spend the $12+ a month to sync their email on a non-smart phone.
They took away the graphic equalizer that the 9800 had. This absolutely makes no sense to me. Isn't this suppose to be a mp3 player/phone?
They gave the phone two different types of graphical interfaces. The standard one like the 9800 (and most of all the new LG Verizon phones) and a more richly graphic one called Communicator. I do like the look of Communicator, but some of the icon's are kind of funny. They have a icon for email (see my above statement on this), another for Instant Messaging (even though they already have a icon for messaging...evidentually, they thought we needed two for that area), and even one for Navigator. Of course, useful ones like my music are buried under other icons.
Ok, now I could go on nick-picking this phone apart, but I should point out some of the positive or improvements this one has over the 9800:
Biggest improvement is the sound quality with ear buds on. Man, this thing will blow your eardrums off. Major, major improvement there. The new music library is a vast upgrade also, even though I don't like they way they make you make a play list.
I have already mentioned some of the other nice features the phone has in my original post, so won't go into them.
All in all, if you have never had a 9800, and are looking for a non-smart phone with the qwerty keypad....you will like this phone. If your a prior 9800 owner, and love it, you will miss a lot of the features/functions and the simplicity of it, and I would say stick with the 9800.
(by the way, they let me keep the 9900 and sent me a refurbished 9800 also....that was nice of them)

Re: LG VX9900 - The enV Review
When we had this phone is stock, it sold out in 24 hours...Verizon hit a home run with this one... It has so much to offer, and we can get it in stock any more.
Love the email button give you instant access to your email. Also the screen is huge, and offers a good clear view of everything.

Re: LG VX9900 - The enV Review
sooo, some things you cant learn in the store. I bought 2 of these about 2 weeks ago, and I just returned them both. Yes, the features are GREAT. And the phone is cool indeed. But try talking to someone on one.... and thats where you may find yourself hating this phone. My girlfriend and I talk frequently since I work 80-90 hours a week. When you are talking to someone who is using this phone, you can hear EVERY noise in the background, and yet the person you want to talk to sounds like they are talking through a pillow. About every 3-4 minutess you will find yourself saying "WHAT did you say?" and vice versa.
So, I returned them today, and got 2 new ones. My girlfriend drops her phone ALOT, so she went with the G'Zone, which so far she really likes. If you are a tech person and need all the cool gadgets, this phone isnt for you though. But, if you want a quality phone, that still looks nice and can take a beating, THIS is the phone for you. I already threw it, and it looked brand new still.
I myself opted with the VX9400. i LOVE it. It has basically all the same features as the 9900, minus a QWERTY keyboard (which I never send txt messages, so no major loss here). I personally think this phone is more comfortable to use, looks sleeker, and the screen is nice as well as has a cool side flip feature (supports the tv thing, not in MA yet though). I honestly can only recommend the vx9900 if you are the type of person that likes having a mp3/picture/text message item, but dont care much for sound quality, because trust me, you will find yourself aggravated to hell with it.

Re: LG VX9900 - The enV Review
I tried placing calls on the enV from two different Verizon stores. I could hear the person I was calling without any trouble--very clear sound. Unfortunately, both people told me that there was an echo to my voice and that it sounded as if I were calling from a well.
