The PS3 will be better, but more expensive. I was tired of waiting so I got a 360 in the meantime and I'm very happy with it.

k u are partially wrong

xbox 360 is not fully backwards compatible it only plays some games such as the popular halo 2 and halo, but it does no support all the games

and u require a 20 GB hard drive in order to play xbox games(so im assuming u ahve a premium system)

so u need to check your info

ps3 will use a rsx type graphics card, the most powerful card out there currently

that is a 512MB graphics card and its more powerful than the nvidia geforce 7800 and i paid 450 bux to have it!nvidia is workin to top this video card but they wun ahve anything brewed up ti a year or two

I like my 360 and once it establishes a descent library Im sure I will play it aot more. The PS3 is tempting though and I'll probley end up with both.

For you gamer out there it won't be long until the PS3 is out, it is going to be due out in Japan on the 10th November, 2006.

Seven Days after the Japan release date it will be available worldwide.

i am still wondering what graphic cards or the actual hardware cards(not so much name brand) the xbox, xbox360, and ps3 are using.

as a current 360 owner i might end up with both. i have owned both previous systems, xbox and ps2 and both dvd/drives crapped out on me near the 2 year mark, just around the time the warranty ran out. the xbox was more solid and i did enjoy using it moreso than the ps2.

the ps2 came out at launch offering something no other game CONSOLE had, a very crappy dvd drive, but omg a game console that doubles as a dvd player, i bought one as soon as they were "readily" available. the ps2 had more problems sooner than with my experience with my xbox. however, i enjoyed playing games like ss3 online with ps2, this was not available with xbox even though they have the great "live" netwark, i mean i was at a critical point in my life where nothing else mattered except ssx and need for speed over the internet connection, when my ps2 bit the dust i bought an xbox immediately and purchased the latest ssx and need for speed, got home, set everything up, then i was asked for credit card info for xbox "live", i felt like poop, why? why must i pay for the internet connection? i am already paying for high speed, i just gave you my freakn lunch money, i didn't have to pay when using sony's connection, this bugged the cookies out of me, but i payed. then i put in ssx and no internet connection.

xbox is getting better about their network with their silver program, but i don't think you can compete unless you have the gold, i am on the gold trial, and for something you have to pay for, playing games like madden 06, is not worth paying anything for, the ps2 network supposedly worse is the same if not better in terms of frame rate over a network. however i am most impressed with burnout revenge for 360 over the live network, has buggs sometimes when getting logged into an online game, the gameplay is near playing off the network. madden sucks on the ps2 anyway. the 360 madden looks good but cannot create player, just buggs me.

overall i am very happy with my 360(hd add on coming soon, yay).

i don't know how reliable sony's ps3 is going to be...introducing a blue-ray drive console that cost less than a blue-ray player...hmmmm, cheap?, you bet, risky?, uhhhh...yes. however i am ever so interested in the kind of games that will be available on with the use of blue-ray media. i am curious, does this mean the games will be bigger and/or better? if the 360 is faster i don't if it will really matter if ps3 has more data with their games. i am not going to pay 6 or 7 hundred to play metal gear's newest and hd grand torismo(*****).

ps3.. is the next generation of gaming... never has a corparation has developed gaming in HD except microsoft

but sony... has wisely awaited the development of blu-ray technology. blu ray disks can contain up to 27-28 gb of data, and since sony's new disk reader will feature a blu laser, hence blu-ray it can intake that much data into its 3.2 ghz processor(2.0 teraflops) compared to xboxs 3.2ghz processor(1.0 teraflop) so intakin more dating means the graphics will be more detailed, sound, motions wil be smoother ect... controllers will be wireless via bluetooth, 360 used 2.4 Radio.

the blu-ray read is not any mroe cheaper than the blu-ray player or risky u ahve your sources all wrong the ps3 is faster than the xbox 360 and yes the games will be higher quality because of blu-ray, and the ps3 will even play current dvds in near HD quality, so in technological terms the ps3 is a better gaming machine

but xbox360 has its pros

And to you ps3 fanboys, you of all people should know a good console is not made by it's specs. Look at the ps2 - the best selling console had the worst specs of the major 3.

halo is compatible with the 360 and looks better when used on the new console.

e3 reviews where not all too great regarding the ps3, although sony's e3 setup was using hardware that was less than what the specs show, a 2.8ghz and whatever else. i'd really like to see for myself some of the games which are available on both consoles the ps3 and x360. from the looks and specs, the ps3 will have something great to offer...at high price.
