HUGE phone help!!! plz read (How can I recover a bocked #?)

OK, please help!!! I have been being pranke called by the same person over and over. I want to get their number, since it was blocked... how the heck do I do this?
have a singular cell phone.. and have been prank called by this person a ton of times.. its annoying..

please help.. how do I recover the blocked number? is there a way???

Have you called your provider? Or the local police?

I did that many times when I was a stupid, kid. I thought prank calling ended with caller ID.

You should call your wireless provider regarding blocking a phone number.

I would like to know what the outcome of this is. It would be nice if you share it with the forum.

In two words... YOU don't, but your phone company and the police can get the number(s) and contact the person or persons making the prank calls..

Doing what you want involves contacting the phone carrier (wireless or land line), and the police. And YOU won't get the number but the police will. What you will have to do of course is keep records of each and every prank calls, hangs ups, heavy breathing and whacked out voice mails... and report them to your phone company, if voice mails are left, you will need to keep them so the phone company can turn copies over to the police. Y so you can then contact the phone company.

Is this a lot of work? Yup. Not as easy to deal with as landline prank calling, as all they have to do is to put a trace on the line so that when those calls come in over and over from the same number or group of numbers, they can pin it down to where the calls are coming from and who the number(s) are registered to.

But in either case, landline or cell phone prank calls, they can be found out, and once they have enough calls to prove it's not a freak thing with the weather, sunspots or wild chickens dancing at midnight, they get in touch with the person who owns the phone, and tell them if it happens again, someone's going to jail, even if it's not the registered phone owner.

Having said all of the above, sometimes you can check your ACTIVE online minutes useage and it will show incoming blocked numbers, with the time, date and length of the call, but once the bill is final, it tends to show your own number with the time, date call duration, rather than the number that called.

Not sure if this is a feature or a quirk with Cingular, but I have friends that have their phones on perm call block, so it does not show up on caller ID. And all their calls to my cell phone show up a Unknown Unknown or Private. But when I get the bill or see the bill on line, all their calls show up with the number. So take a look at your bill and see if there are a lot of calls that are coming in about the times that you are getting the prank calls.
