Not in a mental way though.
I have a VIA AC97 sound card. Windows update does the lovely thing of updating my PC. Its update my pc and now I can get midi files to work. Does anybody know how I can get my midi files to work. If it involves drivers where can I find them?
I need your help.

hey, Scozzy, i thought you have just updated your pc and have made the midis to work, then why i you still asking of how to make them work?

Thanx for the interest ermines. It was a typo 'can' should have been 'cant'.
However I was able to sort out the problem by deleting the drivers and letting windows find the hardware again.

AC97 codec is bad. Get an Audigy. AC97 only supports 8-bit recording for one, and is often incompatible with some applications.

i had a similar problem when using songfiler for yamaha keyboards the ac soundcard was always in use. if you have this problem again go into your control panel and just check your midi properties this may help.
