HTC has started to deploy Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on the One X a few good months ago -almost half a year back if you come to think of it- but unfortunately this has been one of the slowest deployment processes on a relatively recently released high-end smartphone and as a result, there are still a few One X variants out there that are rocking Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Fortunately though, AT&T has just left that particular party and has now started to roll-out the long-awaited Android 4.1 update on its One X model, so if you happen to own the handset in the US via AT&T, then you're in for a treat.

As far as the changelog goes, you can expect new features such as Project Butter, Google Now, a new notification area with better notifications, a Power Saver mode, an improved camera and gallery application, as well as a few other small UI changes brought forth by HTC Sense 4+. In addition, the carrier has added a few goodies of its own, such as access to ISIS mobile payments (works only if you reside in Salt Lake City, Austin or Texas), AT&T Drive Mode, AT&T Locker and AT&T Messages.

The update is rather large and weighs about 630 MB, so make sure you grab it while connected to a WiFi network. As always, if you haven't received the update notification just yet then feel free to perform a manual check by accessing the Settings menu > About > Software updates and hitting that "Check Now" button.

Last but not least, the files are probably being deployed in phases, which means that if there's no update waiting for you, then you might have to wait a few hours or a few more days before you'll get your turn to download the new software update. Good luck!
