Oddly enough, there haven't been a lot of rumors and leaks surrounding the LG Vu 3, but as it turns out, the Korean manufacturer has actually worked on this particular device which has now been made official. As its name suggests, the LG Vu 3 is a the latest device in the "Optimus Vu" series, but as we all know, LG has decided to drop the "Optimus" moniker for high-end devices, reason why the LG G2 is also not called the "LG Optimus G2".

In any case, the Vu 3 is a pretty interesting phablet that packs quite a punch. Spec-wise, the handset features a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor running at a frequency of 2.26 GHz, an Adreno 330 graphics chip clocked at 450 MHz, 2 GB of RAM, a 13 MP main camera featuring an LED flash, a 2.1 MP secondary sensor and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. The handset can also take advantage of the newest and fastest mobile network technology, thanks to its LTE-Advanced support.

As expected, the Vu 3 continues the tradition set in stone by its predecessors, and arrives with a display that delivers a rather unusual 4:3 aspect ratio. The screen measures 5.2 inches in diagonal, and the resolution is set at 1280 x 960, resulting in a pixel density of 308 pixels per inch.

Aside from these hardware specifications there are other details that need to be discussed as well, such as the fact that the handset arrives with a dedicated rubber Rhodium stylus pen. Though the addition of a stylus is much welcomed, it doesn't seem like the device will excel in this particular area.

Last but not least, the Vu 3 will take advantage of some of LG's goodies, including a translucent QuickView case and various software features such as Guest Mode and KnockOn.

As far as the handset's launch goes, it appears that LG has set the South Korean release date on September 27. At this point, the price is unknown, and we're not sure when and if the Vu 3 will be released outside of its homeland.

Would anyone be interested in this particular device? Do you think it can compete with the most iconic phablet out there (the Samsung Galaxy Note 3)? Leave a comment below.
