Assuming that you're a Verizon customer and a Droid enthusiast, then you should be pleased to learn that the carrier in question has recently cut the prices of the latest Motorola Droid line-up. As most of you are already aware of, the Motorola Droid Maxx, Ultra and Mini have been launched only a few months ago, but up until now, Big Red has continued to offer these handsets at the same price since launch.

Fortunately, if you've waited for an opportunity to get a hold on either one of the aforementioned smartphones at a lower price, then this might be it. Verizon is now offering the Motorola Droid Maxx for $199 on-contract, the Droid Ultra for $99 and the Droid Mini for only $49. This translates into a $100 price cut for the Maxx and the Ultra, and a $50 discount for the Mini. Interestingly enough, the off-contract prices also seem to have taken a hit. The Maxx will now set you back $499, the Ultra $449 and the Mini $399.

In case you're not familiar with these three smartphones and you're wondering what you'll get for your money, then you should know that both the Maxx and the Ultra share the same specifications, with a few exceptions. Both devices pack a 5.0 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution if 720 x 1280, an X8 Motorola chip based on the Snapdragon S4 Pro dual-core, clocked at 1.7 GHz, an Adreno 320 graphics chip and 2 GB of RAM. Both devices arrive with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, and pack a 10 MP main camera, complemented by a 2 MP front-facing sensor.

The key differences between the Maxx and the Ultra are the larger on-board storage capacity of the latter (32 GB versus Ultra's 16 GB) and the larger 3,500 mAh battery on the Maxx (as opposed to the Ultra's 2,130 mAh unit.

On the other hand, the Droid Mini is also a pretty well-equipped device for its market segment. It features a 4.3 inch TFT display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 and a pixel density of 324 pixels per inch, the same Snapdragon S4 Pro-based X8 chip with a frequency of 1.7 GHz, an Adreno 320 GPU and 2 GB of RAM. There are 16 GB of internal storage, a similar 10 MP / 2 MP camera combo as featured by its larger siblings, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and a 2,000 mAh battery.

All in all, the latest Motorola Droid family has become more interesting than before, and bargain hunters might want to look into these offers. Check out the source links below.
