Pantech is one of the several smartphone manufacturers who are in a financial tight spot right now, and there's even talk of bankruptcy surrounding this particular Korean brand. However, Pantech is still rolling out smartphones in an attempt to overcome these issues, and the "Vega Note" might be the next handset to be unveiled by this particular company.

The Pantech Vega Note is expected to be made official tomorrow, on October 10, but interestingly enough, the handset has been caught on camera earlier today, ahead of the official announcement. The leaked photos gave us the opportunity to learn more about what this device has to offer, so let's check it out.

As seen in the image above, the Pantech Vega Note features a fingerprint scanner on the back panel, much like the HTC One Max will. More so, the device appears to feature a stylus pen that is concealed within the case, in a Note 3-like fashion.

The presence of the stylus pen and the name of the device are not the only clues indicating that this Pantech smartphone is planned to be a direct competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The Vega Note features top-notch hardware specs as well; at least according to the rumors. The phablet is said to deliver a 5.9 inch screen, a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor running at a frequency of 2.3 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. Additionally, the device will be LTE-enabled and is said to arrive with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.

While these specifications are not really as impressive as the Note 3's, the Pantech Vega Note still sits comfortable in the high-end market segment. Hopefully, the price of the handset will be a compelling one. Pricing and availability details are expected to be announced tomorrow, so until then, feel free to leave a comment below and share your thoughts on this particular device. Given these rumored specs, do you consider the Vega Note to be a worthy Note 3 competitor?
