Android 4.3 for the Samsung Galaxy S4 / S4 Google Play Edition Gets Leaked – Check it Out

Although Android 4.3 Jelly Bean hasn't really been officially announced yet, we're all expecting it to arrive at one point by the end of the year. Earlier rumors were indicating that the next iteration would be Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, but that particular rumor has been extinguished a few good months ago. What we'll get this year is Android 4.3, and by the looks of it, this particular version of Jelly Bean is not really that different from Android 4.2.2.

To be more precise, Android 4.3 has just been leaked on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition earlier this morning. Fansite SamMobile has offered this leaked ROM for download ever since, and it has also put the pieces together so that owners of the original Galaxy S4 in Europe can download and apply this particular ROM on their devices (source links below with instructions and necessary resources).

The guys over at Android Central have taken the leaked ROM for a spin on the European SGS4 and by the looks of it, Android 4.3 really is a minimalistic update over version 4.2.2, at least on the surface. Most changes that have been done concern things that work under the hood. A closer look has revealed that "android.hardware.bluetooth_le" is listed as a feature in 4.3. This suggests that the operating system should support Bluetooth Low Energy. Additionally, Bluetooth tethering is also available on Android 4.3, while on the Galaxy S4 Google Edition running 4.2.2 it isn't.

Last but not least, a handful of extra options have also been added in the developer section, such as "Profile GPU Rendering".
