Sony Ericsson joined together in the year of 2001 and now comes official news, that Sony, is buying out Ericsson's part of the company for a whopping $1 billion dollars.
manufacturing and launching of new Sony Ericsson devices should not be affected and it's safe to assume that all will go on as it has been. January 2012 is the expected date for the transaction to take place and is said to allow Sony to "integrate smartphones into its broad array of network connected consumer electronics devices - including tablets, televisions and personal computers - for the benefit of consumers and the growth of its business."
The $1 billion is said to go towards the global wireless markets. The production of smartphones is still on the go for next year and Sony believes that all this will be a positive change.
