As we probably all know by now, US carriers have the tendency of deploying updates a bit later than we'd like and as a result, while the international Samsung Galaxy S3 has received Jelly Bean for quite some time, reports coming from a Samsung spokesperson have indicated that besides Sprint, all the US carriers will roll-out Android 4.1 on their Galaxy S3 variants sometime in early-2013.

Fortunately that's not the case and after the highly anticipated Jelly Bean update has been launched on Sprint's SGS3, T-Mobile has made some progress as well and is now deploying Android 4.1 on its own Galaxy S3 variant.

The new build is being rolled-out over-the-air, which means that in case you haven't received an update notification just yet then you'll have to wait for your turn. Don't worry, it shouldn't take long. As for the changes brought by the new operating system, you can expect an increase in performance thanks to "Project Butter" running under the hood of Android 4.1, you'll also benefit from Google Now and Samsung has also included a few features of its own in the TouchWiz user interface such as AllShare Cast, resizable Pop-up Play window, a new notification bar, a reorganized settings menu and Blocking Mode.

Now it's only a matter of time before all the other US carriers will get to release Jelly Bean on their own Galaxy S3 models, and hopefully it won't take them too long to do so.

Have you received Android 4.1 on your T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3?
