T-Mobile Launches Jelly Bean on the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G

Great news for all of you who happen to own the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G at T-Mobile, as the carrier in question has recently started the Jelly Bean roll-out process on the respective device.

The update weighs about 411 MB and is delivered both over the air and through Samsung KIES software. T-Mobile reminds its customers that the Galaxy S Relay 4G needs to be running software version T699UVMA2, T699UVLJ1 or T699UVLH1 in order for the handset to be eligible for the update. Furthermore, Magenta has also informed Relay 4G owners that the over the air release will end on May 30, so if you won't be able to download the new OS by that time, you'll have to rely on KIES.

In order to trigger the OTA update, you need to press the Menu key from the Home screen, tap Settings > About device > Software update. Remember to have Wi-Fi on, or you'll get a prompt to enable it anyway.

Once you download and apply the update you can expect a number of new features, including Google Now and Project Butter, the latter consisting in a handful of tweaks that will make your handset's OS much smoother and reliable.

The Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G is a variant of the Galaxy S Blaze Q.
