I have the chocie to choose my cell phone after my sprint plan runs out, and I've narrowed it down to 3 phones. Sidekick 3, Chocolate by LG, and the LG the V. I want to know which one you guys favor. Hopefully those that have the phones and actually know. Don't go off of the price of them though, just the quality. So please vote, thanks.

Thanks for voting. That is the one that I was leaning towards. But I wanted to hear from people before I make the decision...

Re: Sidekick 3, Chocolate, or LG the V

I picked the Sidekick. The V and Chocolate can't compare to the Sidekick in terms of data. The Sidekick has unlimited texting, e-mail, web browsing, and IM.

While the Verizon phones do have V CAST, that's $15.00/month there and you can't even use your music from your computer, and the Sidekick, for $20.00.month, gives you all that unlimited data and you can use your music from your computer; the only thing it doesn't have that the Verizon one doesn't is V CAST, but I personally think the $20.00/month unlimited data is far better than $15.00/month limited media.

By the phone itself, I personally think the Sidekick is a much cooler looking phone than the V, and I'm starting to see quite a bit of Chocolates now. (By the way, it breaks my heart when I see everyone with the same device.) The V has a slightly better screen and more memory, but the Sidekick has more phone entries, as well as Flight Mode. The V does, however, have video capabilites, but I really think the Sidekick's data outweighs the V's multimedia.

Yea that was in my first choices but I eliminated it. I don't really like how the buttons are out. Like where you can accidentally hit buttons and such.

We are really in the same situation. I, too, am trying to move away from Sprint and Verizon (more of Verizon, actually) and I've decided that the Sidekick is best. While the BB is $100 cheaper, the Blackberry data plan doesn't include unlimited texting, a big thing for me. Plus, the multimedia I've heard was done very poorly on the Pearl, and while it's a solid phone, the keys seem rather flimsy. Plus, the Sidekick looks so much cooler.

It does have unlimited text messaging. Not too many people know about it because the plan is hidden away at the T-mobile website. Here's the link.

Yeah I've hadd sprint for a little bit and have not enjoyed it. I have the A900
"Blade" and I've had alot of trouble with it, it has alot of glitches. The only thing that I would worry about is the bulkiness of the sidekick. Is it really heavy and big?

I'm having more trouble with Verizon, as that's my primary phone. My mom got a free sprint phone with her plan and I've been using it occasionally, but I probably won't cancel that line. I see you and I both have Samsungs, too, which I don't want to get one after my experiences with my two. My Verizon one is pretty but basic, and it's about to snap in half. The Sprint one is also pretty on the front but VERY flimsy on the back (the plastic battery fell out when I dropped it). The UI on the Sprint one is terrible, and both of them have ridiculous ringtones.

6.5 ounces won't be too bad. Just imagine a regular iPod being your phone. They've about the same weight. The Samsungs are already about that heavy anyways.....

My mom had a samsung before, and it was terrible. The man problem was that it dropped calls all the time. I went to apple and to sprint pcs to check out the weight of the ipod video and my phone and they are not alot lighter. I held my ipod in my hand and imagined it being a little heavier. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to get the sidekick now... thanks guys.

Have you seen the A940? People are trying to compare it to a RAZR when it's 2.6 ounces heavier than the RAZR!

Oh, by the way, did I mention that you're the luckiest person in the world? You're where I want to be in two months.

Considering how active this topic is, only 2 people voted this?!?! Both of them voted Sidekick 3.

Gee... looks like no one wants to vote here.

Not too many people know that those "data plans" are data only and cannot be paired with a voice plan, either. What I'm saying is, those plans are data-only. When you get a Blackberry, Sidekick, or other smartphone with a voice plan, the data is actually cheaper. Look, when you click on data plans on the T-Mobile.com website, it says that the sidekick data is $30/month, but that plan actually will only get you data and calls are $0.20/min. But, click on phones, and select a Sidekick and voice plan, you'll notice that the Sidekick Unlimited plan is decreased to $20. Ditto for the Blackberry, but it doesn't have texting, unlike the data-only Blackberry plans you showed.
