I read on a foreign (Russian) website taht someone/company is offering self-mods for 8210 to do the following:
1) Colour screen
2) Louder rings
3) Better battery life
Anyone know of this? Is it a hoax?

just an opinion here
but colour screen, isn't this a bit too much for it to be a self mod?
i use to have an 8210, seen the screen, and self mod... too intricate!?!?!

It can be done, i've seen it done with some Sprint phones before, just a matter of trusting that website or not.

I work a lot with mobile phones and it sounds a little too good to be true.
I imagine if it was Nokia would be the one to start it and someone else come up with a cheaper idea.
I would think to run a colour screen you would need new hardware and at least a firmware reflash. Plus the 8210 is hardly a premium phone, if you're going to do it for anything surely the better and less obsolete 8310 is the better bet?!?
