I'm trying to decide what phone to get, and I haven't owned one in about 6 years, so it's pretty hard.

I've gotten it narrowed down to these four options (with concerns):

LG Env3 (But I've heard reports that they shut down on their own and are buggy)
LG Chocolate Touch (But I'm worried about owning/using a touchscreen esp for texting.)
Samsung Alias 2 (Concerned about the battery life and keypad)
Samsung Convoy (Concerned about texting with a flip phone...no qwerty)

Any recommendations and help is greatly appreciated. In truth, I think I'd prefer a qwerty keypad. Out of these phones, I like the ENV3 the most, but I'm a bit too worried about all the negative reviews detailing firmware bugs.

    Thanks for the help!

I know more than one person who has a Chocolate Touch and they all rave about it and all say texting is a breeze on it.

My dad had the env3 and returned after 3days of having it due to randomly shutting down.

Thanks for the reply. I actually already got teh ENV3. I was aware of the problems with it, but I've read about some fixes, and since I get 1 month to trade it back for a different phone (at best buy), I figured I'd take a shot.

Thanks, Princesa. Yeah, I've read all about the shut-down problem. But after doing all the research, I figured I'd give it a shot anyway. Supposedly there are a number of causes (loose battery, firmware, SD card problems) with an equal number of fixes. I'll jut keep my fingers crossed.

Not in the market for a smart phone, Tony. But thanks.
