I was told by a sprint representative that if I were to switch to Boost (which is, oddly, part of sprint), porting my number, and was then to decide to return to Sprint, it would be unlikely or impossible for me to keep my number, Is there any truth to this? I thought that the porting laws ensured your number is your, wherever you go. Is reality otherwise?

See More: Can one re-port a number from a new service to your old carrier?

    Yea, that is completely true.

The porting law supports those who dislike their carrier and therefore switch to another. Key word: DISLIKE. You obviously didn't dislike them too much if you want to reactivate with them.

Yes, carriers are unable to accept their numbers back once it has been ported.
