    Hi Everyone-

I am looking to make my very first smartphone purchase but the search has my head spinning round and round. I already have a desktop at home but am looking for something I can use to check on emails and messages while away like Dr and hospital appointments, movies, shopping ,etc. Would like something with a physical qwerty keyboard since that's what I am already used to. Also the other features like camera, gps, 4g, web browsing would be welcome.

Have been browsing through ebay comparing features and prices and still can't seem to make up my mind although it mostly comes down to Samsung or HTC. Have heard some bad things about Samsung so I am leaning towards HTC.

Just wondering if anyone has any kind of advice which might be helpful in reaching my decision.

    Thanks

What cell phone service provider are you leaning more towards? They all offer discounts on smartphones with new contracts. Or are you thinking prepaid?

I am leaning towards T-Mobile. They have a pay by day plan which suits my needs and finances just fine. $2.00 or $3.00 per day depending on the data, etc. I simply do not get out enough for long periods of time to justify a monthly contract and probably wouldn't qualify for one anyway since my credit is shot due to excessive medical bills.

I way I understand it, as long as the phone is unlocked or T-Mobile branded, any phone can be used with any T-Mobile plan, except for the Blackberry's.

Was looking for something reliable with a qwerty keyboard since I think those would be the easiest to use. Could be wrong about that though. All I really need it for is to check on emails and messages while out. Have no need for facebook, twitter, youtube and all the other websites and apps.
