You can now do almost everything, if not all, that you need to do online from a smartphone. You can take it anywhere, and you can get connected wherever you go. With this technology, do you still have a need to use your computer? What can you do from your computer that you can't do from your cellphone? It's amazing how the smartphones can already replace computers. I even read through an article that one CEO did his job from a Galaxy Note for a year! Now that's amazing! I honestly don't do much on my computer anymore because I can do it from my phone anyway. Of course, the computer never runs out of battery (when plugged in) so you can surf the Internet all you want. What if a phone can do that too, do you think you'll ever use your computer or want to carry a laptop when traveling so you can do your stuff online?

I still use my computer a lot since it is quicker to type on the keyboard. Also, I can have many tabs and windows open at the same time. My smartphone only allows a certain number of tabs, it doesn't have a keyboard, and the screen is too small. If I had the Samsung Galaxy S4 I would probably be able to do more than with my current phone.

I don't think so, I'm even sceptical about pc replacement by tablets. If you have you work on computer for at least 5 hours a day it is much more covenient to use laptops or desktop devices.

I agree, if someone just needs to reply to a few emails a day then a smartphone would work fine, but for someone that is on the computer for many hours a day a smartphone isn't a replacement - yet.

It's like saying: Will the TV replace Cinema?

No it wouldn't. It's all about the big screen

    That's a good point.

Smartphones probably replace computers for some people, but probably not most.

Really depends on how you're using it. If you're only emailing, browsing the web, consuming media... maybe.

But if you're one of the many people in the world who spend 8+ hours per day working on a computer... probably not. Keyboard is king when productivity matters!

I agree, I use the computer way too much for a phone to replace it. I really need the keyboard to type fast, and I am always multitasking on the computer, and it is easier with the large screen. I don't want a phone or tablet with a 15 inch screen like my laptop.

Just for those who use it to check messages in Facebook and to find the location using Google Maps.
