Using iTunes to Transfer Contacts:

iTunes is a great tool that allows the user to sync his / her iPhone contacts with a Google account. This allows you to easily transfer your contacts from your Google account to your Android device – in this case, the ZTE Solar. For this method, you need a computer with iTunes installed on it.

  1. Open iTunes on your computer
  2. Establish a connection between your iPhone and PC using the proprietary USB cable
  3. Once connected, your iPhone will appear in iTunes. Click it to access its summary page
  4. Click the "Info" tab and mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box
  5. From the drop-down menu, select "Google Contacts"
  6. If you haven't done so before, enter your Google account username and password. Otherwise, you can go to "Configure" and choose a previously added Google account
  7. Click "Apply" and allow iTunes to sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account
  8. Switch over to the ZTE Solar and add the same Google account. (To add an account, go to "Settings" > "Accounts")
  9. Lastly, allow the Google account to sync the contacts with your Android device

Using iCloud to Transfer Contacts:

iCloud is a great backup service for iPhone users, and assuming that you've used it before, then your contacts should already be backed up onto your iCloud account. If so, then you can export these contacts to your ZTE Solar by doing the following:

  1. Visit https://www.icloud.com/ using your computer's Internet browser
  2. Sign in with your iCloud account
  3. Go to the "Contacts" list and select the contacts that you want to share
  4. Click the "Settings" icon located in the lower-left side of the screen
  5. Select "Export vCard" and allow your computer to download the resulting VCF file
  6. Import the VCF file to "Google Contacts". Or, you can connect your ZTE Solar to your computer via USB, and copy the VCF file to the phone's "sdcard" directory. Then, open the "Contacts" app, tap "Menu" > "Import / Export" > "Import from SD card". Select an account if necessary, choose the right VCF file and tap "OK"

Using the "My Contacts Backup"

If you don't have access to a computer, then don't worry. You can still transfer your iPhone contacts with the help of applications such as "My Contacts Backup". To do so:

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone and download the "My Contacts Backup" application
  2. Launch the app
  3. Tap "Backup". This will create a VCF file containing all your iPhone contacts
  4. Tap "Email" once the backup is complete. This will create a new email with the VCF file attached to it
  5. Enter your Gmail address as the email's recipient, and send it
  6. On your ZTE Solar, open the email and download the VCF file to import the contacts via the "Contacts" application

Using the "Bump" Application:

Last but not least, you can use the "Bump" app to transfer the contacts from your iPhone. This application does not require a computer, or a Bluetooth / NFC enabled smartphone. All you need is an active Internet connection on both smartphones.

  1. Visit the App Store on your iPhone and download "Bump"
  2. On your ZTE Solar, visit the Play Store and download the same application
  3. Open "Bump" on both smartphones. When prompted, allow permissions
  4. On the iPhone, go to the contacts section
  5. Select the contacts that you want to share with your Android device
  6. After the "Bump Now!" label appears in the top-right area, lightly bump your smartphones together
  7. A "Connect" button should appear on the screen of both smartphones. Tap it
  8. Wait for the iPhone contacts to be shared with your ZTE Solar, and you're all done
