Using iTunes:
NOTE: If you have iTunes installed on a computer with Internet access, you can use the app to sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account. Then you can add the account on the ZTE Obsidian and allow it to sync contacts with your phone.
- Establish a USB connection between the iPhone and computer
- Launch iTunes and click the iPhone to access the summary page
- Go to the Info tab
- Enable Sync Contacts With and select Google Contacts from the drop-down menu
- Sign in with your Google account or if you have already added one prior to this guide, click Configure and select it from the list
- Click Apply to begin the sync
- Once done, switch to the ZTE Obsidian, register the Google account used in iTunes, and allow it to sync contacts with your Android device
Using iCloud:
NOTE: If you have used the iCloud backup service on your iPhone before then your contacts should be backed up on your iCloud account. You can access the account on a computer connected to the Internet, and export the contacts as a vCard file ready for Android use.
- Open the Internet browser on your computer
- Visit https://www.icloud.com/ and sign in with your iCloud account
- Click Contacts and select the contacts you want to share
- Click Settings > Export vCard
- After the vCard file has been downloaded on the computer, import it to Google Contacts or skip this step and instead:
- Connect the ZTE Obsidian to your computer via USB, copy the vCard file to the phone storage, and use the Import function from the Contacts app to add the vCard to your phonebook
Using My Contacts Backup:
NOTE: While the two methods above require access to a computer with Internet, the following two methods rely on third party apps instead. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up and transfer contacts to another phone via email.
- Visit the App Store and install My Contacts Backup on your iPhone
- Launch the app and tap Backup. This will create a vCard file containing the contacts on your iPhone
- Once created, tap Email and attach the file to a new email
- Send the email to your own Gmail address
- On the ZTE Obsidian, open the email and download the attached file
- Import the vCard file using the Import option in Contacts
Using Send Anywhere:
NOTE: Another third party app used for contact transfer cross-platform is Send Anywhere. It uses a P2P connection and doesnt require access to a computer.
- From the App Store, install Send Anywhere on the iPhone
- Visit the Google Play Store and install the app on the ZTE Obsidian
- Open the app on both smartphones
- On the iPhone, tap Send > Contacts
- Select the contacts to share and tap Send
- Choose a transfer method. You can tap Generate QR Code on the iPhone to scan the code with the ZTE Obsidians camera and start the transfer. Alternatively tap Receive on the ZTE, and manually enter the transfer code generated on the iPhone
