Clear App Cache / Data:
NOTE: In case one of your applications doesnt work as intended, you can try fixing this behavior by clearing the apps cache / data.
WARNING! Clearing an applications data will delete all personal information stored within the app, including profiles, saved games, login and credit card information etc. To avoid this, try fixing the issues by clearing the apps cache.
- Open the apps drawer
- Access Settings
- Under Device, tap Apps
- Swipe to Downloaded, Running or All
- Select the desired application
- Tap Clear cache
- If necessary, tap Clear data > OK
Reboot in Safe Mode and Remove an App:
NOTE: If you have installed a third party app that causes issues on your device and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall it by first rebooting your device in Safe Mode. In Safe Mode all third party apps are disabled.
- With the phone turned on, press and hold Power
- In the pop-up window, tap and hold Power off
- When prompted to reboot in Safe Mode, tap OK
- Wait for your device to reboot and a Safe Mode label should be displayed in the lower-left corner of the screen
- To remove the app, first go to Settings
- Scroll to Device
- Tap Apps and swipe to Downloaded
- Select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall > OK
- To exit safe mode, simply reboot your phone as you normally would by pressing and holding Power
Clear the Phones Cache Partition:
NOTE: If your phone doesnt work properly or runs low on storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these problems by clearing the cache partition. This can have similar effects as factory resetting the device, without losing any personal data on the internal memory.
- Turn off the phone
- Press and hold Power for a couple of seconds
- Next, press and hold Volume Up (keep both buttons pressed)
- In the Select Boot Mode screen, release all the buttons
- In the recovery menu, make sure Recovery Mode is selected and press Volume Up to confirm
- After a few seconds you should see an Android with a yellow triangle on the screen
- At this point, press and release Volume Up + Power simultaneously
- You should now see the Android System Recovery menu
- Press Volume down repeatedly to highlight wipe cache partition
- Press Power to wipe the cache and safely reboot your phone
