Clear App Cache / Data:
NOTE: If one of your apps doesnt work as intended or occupies more storage than it should, you might be able to fix these problems by clearing the apps cache and / or data.
WARNING! Clearing an apps data will remove all of your personal information stored within the app, such as settings, saved games, login and credit card information, profiles, high scores etc. To avoid losing data, try solving the problems by clearing the cache only.
- Tap Apps one the home screen
- Open Settings
- Tap Apps
- Swipe to Downloaded or All
- Select the desired application
- Tap Clear cache > OK
- If necessary, tap Clear data > OK
Clear the Phones Cache:
NOTE: If your phone doesnt work as intended and youre considering master resetting it, you might want to try and fix the issues by clearing the cache partition first. This can have similar beneficial effects as a factory reset, without losing any of your personal data. To clear the cache:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Storage
- Wait for the menu to calculate the data, and scroll down to Cached data
- Tap Cached data and wait for the cache to be cleared
NOTE: If clearing the cache didnt help, you can visit this thread for instructions on how you can master reset the Nexus 6P.
Enable Safe Mode and Remove an App:
NOTE: If you have installed a third party application that causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to dispose of the app by first rebooting your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode all third party apps are disabled. To enter safe mode
- Turn the screen on
- Press and hold Power
- In the dialog box that pops-up, tap and hold Power off
- When prompted to reboot in safe mode, tap OK to confirm and wait for the smartphone to restart
- To remove an app in Safe mode, first go to Settings
- Tap Apps and swipe to Downloaded
- Select the desired app and tap Uninstall > OK to confirm
- To exit safe mode, simply press and hold Power and then tap Power in the dialog box

If you leave you will be blocked. I get this message all the time. I am now getting it accessing my e-mail. I am seeing things that have happened when the phone is rooted but i have not done anything to the phone but download apps only from the app store. Help... Darren
