Turn On Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Battery”
  3. Tap “Menu”
  4. Turn on “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Access the “Settings” menu
  2. Tap “Display” under “Device”
  3. If necessary, turn off “Adaptive brightness”
  4. Tap “Brightness level” and drag the slider towards the left side
  5. Return to the “Display” menu and tap “Sleep”
  6. Select a lower timeout duration, such as “15 seconds”

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth:

NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. While viewing the home screen, swipe the “Notification” bar down
  2. Tap the tiles associated with “Bluetooth”, “Location”, and “Wi-Fi” to disable them
  3. Access the “Settings” menu
  4. Tap “Location” for more GPS settings, tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
  5. To disable Hotspot, first go back to “Settings”
  6. Under “Wireless & Networks”, tap “More”
  7. Turn off “Tethering & Mobile Hotspots”

Switch from 4G to 2G:

  1. Access the “Settings” menu
  2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & networks”
  3. Tap “Mobile Networks” > “Preferred network type”
  4. Select “2G”

Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:

NOTE: Certain third party applications can affect your phone’s battery life even when the apps are not in use. This is because some apps perform regular background processes, so by disabling or removing unused third party apps you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. First, access the “Settings” menu
  2. Tap “Apps” under “Device”
  3. Go to “Downloaded”
  4. Tap the desired application
  5. Tap “Disable” / “Force stop” to turn off the app
  6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By setting your phone / accounts to sync less data / less often, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
  4. Select an account type, and enable / disable the available sync options for the selected account (NOTE: sync options can differ from one account type to another)
