Back Up App Data:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Tap “Backup & reset” under “Personal”
  4. To back up account data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your Google account, turn on “Back up my data”
  5. To automatically restore app data when reinstalling applications, enable “Automatic restore”

NOTE: App data will be automatically restored when you sign in with your Google account for the first time, such as after a factory reset.

Back Up Contacts:

  1. Access “Settings”
  2. Tap “Accounts” and select the desired account type
  3. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”
  4. Your contacts will now be synced with your account

NOTE: Contacts backed up using this method will be automatically restored upon signing in with your Google account for the first time, such as after a factory reset.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the Asus Zenfone Zoom to your computer via USB
  2. Drag the “Status” bar down and enable “Media device (MTP)” if necessary
  3. Open a File Explorer on the PC and locate the media files on your phone
  4. Copy the files, and transfer them in the desired backup location on your computer
  5. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray
  6. You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB connector

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Zenfone Zoom and computer
  2. From the phone’s home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down and turn on “Media device (MTP)”
  3. Open the File Explorer on the PC and navigate to the media backup files
  4. Copy the desired media files from your computer
  5. Transfer (restore) the files on your phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
  6. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB connector
