Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Tap “Battery” under “Device”
  4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

Adjust Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
  3. If necessary, disable “Adaptive brightness”
  4. Tap “Brightness level” and drag the slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
  5. Return to the “Display” menu
  6. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower value, such as “15 seconds”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can improve battery life in the long run by setting your accounts to sync less data.

  1. Go to the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Under “Personal”, tap “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type
  4. Select the desired account
  5. Clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable
  6. Tap “Back”

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS:

NOTE: By turning off the phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use, including Bluetooth, Hotspot, Wi-Fi, and GPS, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. On the home screen, drag the “Status” bar down
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth”, “Wi-Fi” and “Location” tiles to turn off these features
  3. Go to the “Settings” menu
  4. For additional GPS options, tap “Location” > “Mode” > “Battery saving”
  5. To turn off Hotspot, return to “Settings”
  6. Next, tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  7. Turn off “Tethering & Mobile Hotspot”

Use 2G Connectivity:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Under “Wireless & Networks”, tap “More”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks”
  4. Tap “Preferred network type”
  5. Select “2G”

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes, so they can affect battery life even when you don’t actively use them. As such, by disabling or removing unused third party apps, you might be able to improve battery performance in the long run.

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Under “Device”, tap “Apps”
  3. Access the “Downloaded” section
  4. Select the desired application
  5. To turn off the app, tap “Disable” / “Force stop”
  6. To remove the app from the device, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
