Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the ZTE Axon 7 Max to your computer via USB
  2. Turn on “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer and use it to locate the desired audio files on the PC storage
  4. Copy and transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “Notifications” / “Alarms” folder(s)
  5. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Change the General Ringtone:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
  3. Tap “Sound & Notification”
  4. Tap “Phone ringtone”
  5. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK” to confirm
  6. Optionally, you can choose to turn “Also vibrate for calls” ON or OFF

Change a Specific Contact’s Ringtone:

NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts located on the phone’s internal memory or the SIM card.

  1. Launch “Contacts”
  2. Select the desired contact and tap “Edit”
  3. Tap “Menu” > “Set ringtone”
  4. Select the ringtone you want to use and tap “OK” to confirm

Change the Notification Sound:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device”
  3. Tap “Sound & Notification”
  4. Tap “Default notification ringtone”
  5. Choose the desired notification alert
  6. Tap “OK” to confirm
