Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device”
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when not in use – such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS – you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth”, “Location” and “Wi-Fi” quick toggles to turn the features Off
  3. For GPS options, launch “Settings” and go to “Location”
  4. Next tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
  5. To disable hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  6. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the feature Off

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks”
  4. Go to “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By reducing the amount of data synced by your apps/accounts, you may improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
  3. Select the desired account
  4. Change the available sync settings

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen
  2. In the quick toggle area, drag the “Brightness” slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
  3. Next open “Settings”
  4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
  5. Optionally, enable or disable “adaptive brightness”
  6. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout option like “15 seconds”

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
  3. Tap “System updates”
  4. Check if new updates are available for download
  5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update. NOTE: The update process will require at least one reboot
