Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Personal”
  3. Tap “Backup & Reset”
  4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your backup account
  5. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to be restored automatically the next time you sign in with the backup account or when reinstalling apps

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the desired account to use for syncing
  4. Ensure the “Contacts” tick box is checked
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts can be automatically restored the next time you sign in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data, and contacts, with the Android device.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media files on the phone
  5. Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the PC
  6. After the process completes, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media backup files on the computer
  5. Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders from where they originate
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
