Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Personal”
  3. Access “Backup & Reset”
  4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
  5. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or reinstall apps

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and account
  4. Ensure the “Contacts” check box is ticked
  5. When ready, tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts can be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or manually sync the account data with the phone.

Back Up Media Files to a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” on the phone, at the prompt or from the Notification shade
  3. Open the File Explorer on the PC
  4. Locate the media files on the phone
  5. Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the PC
  6. Eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the phone to the PC via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Transfer the files to the phone storage in the folders of origin
  5. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
