Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left from the quick toggle area
  3. Open “Settings” and access “Display”
  4. Optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
  5. For timeout options, tap “Sleep”
  6. Select a lower value like “15 seconds”

Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Device”
  3. Tap “Battery”
  4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Bluetooth” and “Location” quick toggles to turn the features Off
  3. Open “Settings”
  4. Go to “Location” for GPS settings
  5. Tap “mode” and enable “Battery Saving”
  6. Return to “Settings” and expand the “Wireless & Networks” menu
  7. Turn “Tethering & mobile hotspot” Off

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Expand “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks”
  4. Go to “Preferred network type” and select “2G”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You might be able to improve battery life by minimizing the amount of data synced by your accounts and apps.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and tap the desired account
  4. Change the settings to reduce sync as desired

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps can perform regular background processes and as such you can potentially improve battery life by disabling or removing unused third-party apps from the phone.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “Apps” and switch to “All apps” or “Downloaded”
  3. Select the desired app and tap “Disable” or “Force Stop”
  4. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “About phone”
  3. Tap “System updates”
  4. Verify if new updates are available
  5. If so, follow the prompts to download and install the update
