Clear App Cache or Data:
NOTE: if one of your apps doesnt work as intended, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING: when you clear an apps data, all of your personal data stored with the app will be deleted, including login information, personalized settings, save files etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.
- Swipe up on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Go to Apps & Notifications
- Tap See all apps
- Select the desired app
- Tap Storage > Clear cache
- If clearing the app cache didnt help, you can tap Clear data. Check the WARNING above
Wipe the Phones Cache Partition:
NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, and otherwise doesnt work as intended, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the phones cache partition. To do this:
- Turn the phone Off
- Press and hold Power and Volume down at the same time
- At the OnePlus logo, release Power
- At the Password screen, release the volume key as well
- Enter your PIN/password and tap OK
- Select English and tap wipe data and cache
- Tap Wipe cache > Yes
- To complete the process you will need to Reboot the phone
Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:
NOTE: If a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app from Safe Mode where third-party apps are disabled by default. To do this:
- On the home screen, press and hold the Power key
- At the prompt, tap and hold the Power off option
- When prompted to reboot to Safe Mode tap OK
- Wait for the phone to reboot. Once done, it should show a Safe Mode watermark on the home screen
- To remove an app, swipe up on the home screen and open Settings
- Then go to Apps & Notifications and ensure you have See all apps selected
- Select the desired application
- Tap Uninstall > OK to confirm
- To exit Safe Mode, simply press and hold Power and tap Restart
