Clear App Cache or Data:
NOTE: If an app causes issues or doesnt work as it should, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING! when you clear an apps data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including payment information, login details, custom settings, save files etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.
- Swipe up on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Access Apps & Notifications
- Switch to All apps if necessary
- Tap the desired app
- Tap Storage > Clear cache
- If clearing the app cache didnt solve the issues, tap Clear data (check the WARNING above)
Reset Network and App Settings/Factory Reset:
NOTE: Before you factory reset the device, make sure you have backed up all of your personal data, or it will be deleted during the factory reset.
- Launch Settings
- Go to System > Reset options
- To reset network settings, tap Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth
- Tap Reset settings two times
- To clear app settings, tap Reset app preferences > Reset apps
- To reset the device to factory settings, tap Erase all data (factory reset) > Reset phone
- Tap Erase everything to confirm
Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an Application:
NOTE: If a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are turned off by default. To boot to Safe Mode and remove an app:
- Press and hold Power
- At the power management pop-up, tap and hold Power off
- After the phone reboots, a Safe Mode watermark should be visible in the lower area of the home screen
- To remove an application, first open Settings and go to Apps & Notifications
- Switch to All apps if necessary
- Tap the desired app, then tap Uninstall > OK
- To exit Safe Mode, reboot the phone by pressing and holding Power and tapping Restart in the power management pop-up
