Clear App Cache or Data:
NOTE: If an application causes problems or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app cache and/or data. WARNING: when you clear an apps data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted. To avoid this, clear ONLY the app cache.
- Swipe up on the home screen from the bottom
- Open Settings
- Access Apps & Notifications
- Switch to All apps
- Select the desired app and go to Storage
- Tap Clear cache
- If clearing the app cache didnt fix the problems, tap Clear data (check the WARNING above)
Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset:
NOTE: Before factory resetting the phone, ensure youve backed up all of your data.
- Open Settings
- Access System > Reset options
- To reset network settings, go to Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth
- Tap Reset settings two times to confirm
- To reset app settings, tap Reset app preferences > Reset apps
- To factory reset the phone, tap Erase all data (factory reset) > Reset phone > Erase everything
Uninstall Apps from Safe Mode:
NOTE: If a third-party app causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode, where all third-party apps are disabled by default.
- Press and hold Power on the home screen
- Tap and hold Power off in the pop-up menu
- Wait for the phone to reboot and you should see a Safe Mode watermark in the lower area of the home screen
- To remove an app, open Settings
- Access Apps & Notifications and switch to All apps if necessary
- Select the desired app and tap Uninstall > OK
- To exit Safe Mode, press and hold Power and tap Restart
